PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

What material is Caltian jewelry made from?

All Caltian jewelry is crafted from 316L stainless steel - a marine-grade, surgical-quality alloy that is exceptionally resistant to rust, corrosion, tarnishing, and skin discoloration. The "316L" grade contains molybdenum, which is what sets it apart from standard stainless steel and makes it genuinely waterproof for everyday wear. It's also hypoallergenic, making it a safe choice for people with sensitive skin or nickel sensitivities.

Why 316L stainless steel and not silver or gold?

Sterling silver tarnishes and requires regular polishing. Gold-plated jewelry wears through over time, revealing the base metal underneath. 316L stainless steel holds its finish indefinitely without any special maintenance - no polishing, no storage requirements, no plating to wear away. It's the material that makes sense for jewelry you actually want to wear every day without thinking about it.

Is Caltian jewelry waterproof?

Yes. Because our jewelry is made from 316L stainless steel, it is inherently waterproof and corrosion-resistant. You can wear it in the shower, at the gym, swimming in the ocean or a chlorinated pool, and through any weather. There's no need to remove it before any water activity. This is one of the core reasons we chose 316L - it's built for real, active life.

Will the jewelry tarnish, fade, or change colour over time?

No. 316L stainless steel does not tarnish, fade, or corrode under normal everyday wear conditions, including exposure to water, sweat, and humidity. Unlike plated jewelry, there's no coating that wears away. What you see on day one is what you'll see years from now.

Is Caltian jewelry hypoallergenic?

Yes. 316L stainless steel is widely used in medical and surgical applications precisely because of its biocompatibility. It is free from the reactive metals that most commonly cause skin irritation, making it suitable for the vast majority of people with sensitive skin.

How do I clean my Caltian jewelry?

Simply rinse with warm water and mild soap if needed, then pat dry with a soft cloth. Because 316L stainless steel is non-porous, it doesn't absorb oils or residue the way softer metals do. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, but otherwise maintenance is minimal by design.

What styles does Caltian offer?

Are your pieces suitable for stacking and layering?

Absolutely. Our minimalist design philosophy makes Caltian pieces natural companions to one another. A Cuban bracelet pairs well with a cuff, a rope necklace and a pendant necklace complement each other without clashing. Because all pieces share the same material and tonal language, mixing and matching within the collection is straightforward.


SIZING & FIT

How do I know which size to order?

Each product page includes specific sizing guidance for that piece. For bracelets, we recommend measuring your wrist circumference and adding 1–2 cm for a comfortable fit. For necklaces, chain length is listed in the product details. If you're ever unsure, feel free to reach out at support@caltian.com and we'll help you find the right size.

What if the piece doesn't fit when it arrives?

We offer a 14-day return policy from the date of dispatch. If a piece doesn't fit as expected, get in touch with us at support@caltian.com and we'll help you arrange a return or exchange.


ORDERS & PAYMENTS

What payment methods does Caltian accept?

We accept all major payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Shop Pay, Maestro, Bancontact, Maestro, and Union Pay. All transactions are processed securely - we never handle or store your payment information directly.

Can I pay with Klarna (buy now, pay later)?

Yes. Klarna is available at checkout, allowing you to split your purchase into instalments. Klarna's standard terms and conditions apply.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Yes, as long as the order hasn't been dispatched yet. Contact us as quickly as possible at support@caltian.com with your order number and the change you need. Once an order has left our warehouse, we're unable to modify it, but our return policy applies after delivery.

Can I change my delivery address after ordering?

Yes, we can update your delivery address before the order has been dispatched. Email us at support@caltian.com as soon as possible. Please note that if a package is delivered to a wrong address because of an error in the address you provided at checkout, we are not able to refund the order if it is lost.

Where is my order confirmation?

Your confirmation email is typically sent within a few minutes of placing your order. If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there either, reach out to us at support@caltian.com and we'll look into it.


SHIPPING

Where do you ship to?

We currently ship across Europe, including Scandinavia and the wider EU. Sales tax is included in all prices as displayed. For orders within the EU, no additional import duties apply.

How long does shipping take?

Estimated delivery times from dispatch are:

  • Scandinavia: 1–3 business days
  • Rest of Europe: 3–7 business days

Orders are typically dispatched within 2 business days of payment. You'll receive a tracking link via email once your order has shipped.

Is shipping free?

Yes - shipping is free on all orders over €35. Orders below that threshold will have a shipping fee applied at checkout. For more information please check out our shipping policy.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive an email with a tracking link. Use this to follow your package's progress. If you haven't received a tracking email and your order was placed more than 2 business days ago, contact us at support@caltian.com.

What if my order is delayed beyond the estimated delivery time?

While the vast majority of orders arrive within the estimated window, occasional delays can occur due to factors outside our control (postal carrier delays, customs, etc.). If your order significantly exceeds the estimated delivery time, contact us and we'll open an investigation with the carrier.

What happens if my parcel is damaged in transit?

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, please reject it from the courier if possible and contact us immediately at support@caltian.com. If the damage is discovered after delivery, get in touch with photos of the damaged item and packaging and we'll resolve it promptly.

Do you ship to P.O. boxes?

Yes, we can ship to P.O. box addresses using postal services. Please note that courier-based shipping options may not be available for P.O. box destinations.


RETURNS & WARRANTY

What is your return policy?

We offer a 14-day return window from the date of dispatch. If you change your mind or the piece isn't right for any reason, contact us at support@caltian.com within that window to initiate a return. Once the item is received back at our warehouse, we'll process your refund.

How do I start a return?

Email us at support@caltian.com with your order number and the reason for your return. We'll send you the next steps, including the return address.

What is the Caltian Lifetime Warranty?

Every piece of Caltian jewelry comes with a Lifetime Warranty. If your jewelry breaks under normal, regular use at any point after purchase, we'll replace it. To make a warranty claim, email us at support@caltian.com with a photo of the broken item and your order details.

What does the Lifetime Warranty cover?

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and breakage from regular everyday use. It does not cover general wear and tear, accidental damage, or loss. If your piece breaks while wearing it normally, that's covered. If a clasp wears smooth over years of daily use, that's considered natural wear. When in doubt, contact us - we'll always try to find a fair resolution.

What happens after a successful warranty claim?

Once your claim is confirmed, you can choose between a replacement item (subject to stock availability) or store credit. Please note that warranty claims cannot be refunded in cash - only as store credit or product replacement.

What if an item I want is out of stock?

We aim to restock sold-out pieces within approximately 4 weeks. If you'd like to be notified when a specific item is back, or to ask about expected restock timing, contact us at support@caltian.com and make sure to subscribe to our newsletter where we announce when products are back in stock.

Is Caltian jewelry a good gift for men?

Yes. Our pieces are designed for everyday wearability, which makes them practical gifts that actually get used. Because the aesthetic is minimalist and neutral, they suit a wide range of personal styles. Our waterproof, low-maintenance design also means the recipient doesn't have to think about maintenance - they just put it on.
